A Message From Mrs Shipp

Families, as the school year comes to a close, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your support and dedication. Your involvement and encouragement have been invaluable in making this year a success. Together, we have created a nurturing environment that has allowed our pupils to thrive academically and personally. Our school is very special, and I am lucky to be the headteacher here. On behalf of myself and all staff, thank you sincerely for the very many cards, gifts and kind words that were shared this week.

We began the week with our Collective Worship, where we reflected on the year and shared the Sports Day results - see photo below. Miss Rutter shared that the winning team, 'Discovery', won by having the most second places, and not first places - something on which we can all reflect. On Wednesday, Reverend Chris spoke to the children about St. Swithin's Day; Reverend Raul joined us too, which was lovely. Our value for next half-term will be one of our core values, 'individuality'.

Anne, one of St. Peter's church wardens wrote a letter to Year 6 families to thank you all for the donations to the church raffle. Despite the initial rain, the village fun day was a fabulous day. Thank you for your donations.

Today we said farewell to our wonderful Year 6 pupils. We looked back on some photos, shared memories, and wished them the very best of luck at their new schools. For some families, their Y6 pupil was their youngest child, so their time of coming to Moulton each weekday will end - thank you for your support over the years. We will miss you all. The Year 6 parents organised an amazing party for their children in the village hall - see photos below.

In celebration assembly, we highlighted the success of some of our musicians. Some children earned awards from Mrs. Taylor, and some earned distinctions for their graded exams. We are very proud of their achievements. See photo below.

We also said thank you to our wonderful School Council members for their commitment and service this year - they have been a wonderful group. See photo below.

Today was Mrs Fiddes' last day. Each class presented her with a gift, and thanked her for all that she has given to our school. You will notice two new pictures in the office area, which Mrs. Fiddes bought for our school. Mrs Fiddes is a wonderful and treasured teacher, friend and colleague, and we will miss her very much.

I would like to wish you all a wonderful and relaxing summer break. May this time be filled with joy, adventure, and cherished moments with family and friends.

We are looking forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for the new school year on Tuesday 2nd September...at 8:40am!

Year 3

We are incredibly proud of ALL the Year 3 children for working so hard, behaving so beautifully and embodying our school values this year. The children have made excellent progress, finishing the year with some great assessment results, particularly in arithmetic and reading. Thank you kindly for the thoughtful and generous gifts given to the Year 3 team – we will thoroughly enjoy them.

Year 3 ended with a flourish, from completing explanation texts in English to completing the topic of statistics and solving mysteries in maths. We explored Paris and the upcoming ‘Jeux Olympiques’ in French, finished and shared animations in computing, did an end-of-topic quiz in history – all in time for a deservedly fun-filled Friday!

Keep up the great work and being your brilliant selves in Year 4. Until then, have a safe, healthy and very happy summer! ????

Year 4

This week we’ve been focused on our D.T. slingshot cars using lots of design skills to make a 3D finished product from 2D designs. We’ve also reflected on the effectiveness of our designs in terms of speed and functionality. We have also had the tastiest science lesson of the year whereby we used our knowledge of heating and cooling to make cornflake cakes (and then hid the evidence!).

We celebrated the Year 6s in assembly and enjoyed each other’s company as a class before we part for the summer break.

Thank you for all of your hard work in supporting the children at home this year. This has really made a big difference to their progress and achievement.

I would also like to say an additional thank you from myself, Mrs Troughton and Miss Fletcher for the lovely gifts that we’ve received. It was very generous of you to do so.

So, have a wonderful summer and enjoy the heat (and the shade if you’re like myself!).

Year 5

I can hardly believe it's the last day of the school year! This year really has flown by. It has been wonderful to spend the year getting to know your children. They really are a special group. They are so keen to work hard, ask questions and have just been a joy every single day. I was more than a little bit heart-broken when I had to hand them over to Mr Coldwell! The Y5 team have lots of great memories of this year.

Mrs Marsh and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who bought or contributed to an end of year gift for us. It was very kind of you to think of us. The classroom now has a beautiful array of houseplants that we will try very hard to keep alive!

Have a wonderful summer holiday! Stay safe. We look forward to seeing you in September (just slightly further up the corridor!)

Year 6

Our final goodbye...

It's hard to believe this is the end of the academic year. We are so proud of your children: they have risen to every challenge we have set them. We are truly privileged to see them each day, working as a family, supporting each other; challenging each other and bringing out the best in each other.

Their success is not simply numbers on a page: for us, we take immense pride in watching the journey each of your children make. Seeing sparks of self-belief is such a humbling experience.

Thank you for choosing and trusting Moulton for to be part of your child's journey; thank you for the support you have given to your child and to us as a team: you have demonstrated that when school and home are able to work together, children flourish. We hope that this is replicated at secondary school and for your children to know that home and school should be an alliance to channel your child's success.

The class has given us so many 'highs' - our days are never dull because we spend it with such wonderful humans. We thank the children for accepting the advice we have given them and embracing the complexity of the curriculum. We have had so many laugh-out-loud moments; we have had so many moments in which we have been choked with emotion.

We thank you for the kind words; cards and gifts - these are very much appreciated and shall always be treasured.

Your children do not leave our hearts- we will continue to talk about them and delight in seeing them, even when they're too cool to speak to us!
