A Message from Mrs Shipp
We have really enjoyed the glorious weather this week! A huge thank you to the team of helpers who joined me on Thursday to clear leaves in the sunshine—your support is greatly appreciated.
Today's newsletter is packed with important information: World Book Day, PTA events, a reminder about the Well-being Team competition, club changes due to parents' evenings, school transport for next academic year, and details about the Year 6 Leavers' Prom. Please take a moment to read through it and keep yourself updated.
We will be celebrating World Book Day next week after postponing it due to the Year 5 and Year 6 residential trip. Please see the details in the separate email—we look forward to a wonderful day of book-themed fun! Thank you and well done to the children who came to pre-school with me today to celebrate their World Book Day - they showed great patience with the younger children, as well as great reading skills, of course!
Our catering supplier has informed us of a meal price increase. From April 1st, the cost of a child’s meal will rise from £2.58 to £2.80. Angie and the team continue to do a fantastic job, and we believe school meals remain excellent value for money. We are pleased to announce that we have a new member of the kitchen team: Maria will join us on the 10th March - welcome, Maria!
We are looking forward to seeing you at your parents’ evening next week. All class teacher appointments will take place in the hall. Mrs. Barker will be available in her office. We will do our best to keep to time, so please arrive promptly and, if a longer discussion is needed, we kindly ask that you arrange a follow-up appointment.
A huge thank you to the staff who gave up their time to make the residential trip such a fantastic experience for our Y5 and Y6 children. Residential trips don’t just happen—they take over a year of planning, risk assessments, and organisation, and once on the trip, staff are on duty 24/7, ensuring the children are safe, happy, and making memories to last a lifetime (all while running on very little sleep!). It’s a huge commitment, and we truly appreciate their dedication. The children were lucky enough to enjoy some amazing weather, which made the outdoor activities even more special. Do have a look at the photos on our Twitter account to see the fun that was had - @MoultonCEVC.
Special Mentions:
A huge well done to one of our Year 4 pupils who achieved Grade 3 violin with Merit—a fantastic accomplishment! (See photo below.)
Four of our pupils participated in the ‘Elite Majorette’s Association’ competition in Clacton last weekend with Synergy, returning with an impressive collection of medals and trophies. Well done, girls! (See photo below.)
Oscar (Y4) continues to impress with his excellent behaviour, thoughtfulness, and kindness towards others.
McKenzie (Y4) demonstrated outstanding manners, as always, and superb communication skills this week.
Izzy (Y5) stepped up at short notice to present the ‘Writer of the Week’ awards in today’s Celebration Assembly—her thoughtful praise for each recipient was wonderful to see.
Penelope (Y3) deserves a special mention for her beautiful manners and lovely conversations whenever she hands me her tray at lunchtime.
Have a fantastic weekend - see you on Monday!
