Welcome to Moulton CEVC Primary School

Summer Term 2017

Our Values and Ethos

Working together, within a happy, caring, Christian community, we aim to inspire, encourage and enable children to be the best they can be.

Our Vision

Moulton CEVC Primary School celebrates the uniqueness of each child.  We work together to provide an exciting and stimulating curriculum within a positive and nurturing environment where everyone has the right to be safe, to be happy and to learn.  We are committed to striving for continual improvement to enable all children to achieve.

We want our children to leave us with independence, resilience, emotional intelligence and good communication skills; with a sense of responsibility and self-worth.  We aim to develop their ability to work successfully with others.

We aspire for our children to leave us with the confidence to ask questions and to try new things; to leave us with a love of learning and a desire to learn more.  We hope they will become people we happy to trust our future

Spring Term 2017

The Spring term has been packed with exciting events and activities for our pupils.  The term started off brilliantly with a visit from Widdershins Theatre Company.  Everyone had a great time watching the puppet show ‘Rapunzel and the Tower of Doom’. The performance was then followed up with a week of exciting cross curricular activities around the theme of Rapunzel.  Children built towers, wrote escape plans and generally had a thoroughly enjoyable week full of exciting learning!

We always welcome visitors in to our school and the Spring term was no exception.  Our friends from the ‘Open The Book’ team visited us twice and helped us understand stories from the Bible in a fun and accessible way.  We also welcomed Pastor Tony from Newmarket Community Church who came to speak to the school in an assembly. We learned a lot when staff and pupils from Newmarket Academy visited us to tell us about staying safe on the internet.

Pupils at Moulton always enjoy a trip.  Year 6 children went to Mildenhall Stadium to take part in the Crucial Crew event as well as visiting Newmarket Academy to watch their performance of ‘Honk’. Year 1 children spent the day at Lackford Lakes and our Year 3 class visited Colchester Castle.  Year 4 pupils also visited West Stow as part of their learning about the Anglo Saxons.

As always, we are amazed by the work of the Friends of Moulton and this year their Easter activities were the best yet.  Children were able to take part in Easter egg hunts and Easter Bonnet competitions, complete with a parade around the school hall. There was even an ‘Easter Bake Off’ cake competition.  A big thank you to the Friends of Moulton.

As the term drew to a close we had one final event which everyone was looking forward to.  Year 3 and 4 pupils had been rehearsing for weeks and were very excited to perform their Easter show ‘The Sonflower’ to their friends and family.  It was the first time the school had performed an Easter show and it really was a great success.  The acting, singing and dancing were incredibly.  What a way to end the term!
