Year 4 at West Stow
Year 4 had a great day out at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village. The sun shone for us putting the 'icing on the cake'. The children enjoyed seeing more about the life of an Anglo-Saxon, looking at artefacts that had been found and trying on replica clothing and an enormously heavy battle helmet in the Museum.
We then investigated the different types of buildings marvelling at the ingenuity and how not a metal nail was used. We encountered an Anglo-Saxon man who spoke to us in old English and answered some of our questions. More questions were answered when the horn was blown and we met an expert in the great hall. It was a lovely day. I think the children would like to do the Beowulf trail!
