Our year 6 children had fun in Science with milk today! This experiment is colour changing milk.

It shows what happens when the soap particles in washing up liquid react with the fats and proteins in milk. The colour is just there so that the reaction can be seen. As the soap makes contact with the milk, the surface tension is lost and the reaction means the surface of the milk moves, creating colourful patterns.
